Big change is on the horizon…

Indeed it is…

I still, to this day, remember the first story I wrote when I was in third grade. I was punished in my room and decided to pass the time by creating a fictional world about a mouse who was also punished in her room. Needless to say, by the time I was let out from my confines the many hours had flown by because I was so consumed with the mouse’s story.  Thank you for keeping me company, little Miss Mae.

From Miss Mae, I found myself writing hundreds of different characters in order to deal with many heavy issues in my life. Writing became my escape. My calming place where I found peace away from a very dark and chaotic childhood. And here I am, thirty some-odd years later, with a few hundred characters under my belt, each whom I need to thank for keeping me sane through my darkest years.
Today, after close to seven months of negotiations, second-guessing myself, and finally coming to a decision to take the terrifying leap, I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I have signed a three-book publishing deal with Atria Books, a division of Simon and Schuster. They’ve acquired the rights to both Collide and Pulse, which will be re-released in e-book form through them within the next few days. Collide will be available in trade paperback in May 2014 and Pulse will be available in trade paperback in August 2014. Atria has also acquired my third book Amber to Ashes, which is set to publish in e-book form November 4th, 2014 and in trade paperback in December, 2014. Preorder links for Amber to Ashes are available HERE.
The night I hit publish on Collide, I never thought this was the road I was going to travel. The road that heaven’s blessed me with. I figured I’d get a few hundred readers to experience Gavin and Emily’s story and that would be that. How very, very wrong I was… The past few months have been nothing short of magnificent for me. Completely mind-blowing in every way possible would be an understatement at its finest. Besides both books making the New York Times, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal best sellers lists, I’ve met and spoken with thousands upon thousands of wonderful readers, bloggers and authors, each of whom have shared a piece of themselves with me. They’ve promoted Collide and Pulse to no end, and for this I’m truly grateful. You have no idea how much your support means to me. This ride has been one that, at times, I wasn’t quite sure I was handling correctly, (let’s face it, I’m no pro) but no matter what, I wouldn’t change one thing.
Today, as I write this announcement, I feel more afraid than I did when I published Collide on my own, but nevertheless, I’m thrilled to be working alongside one of the country’s largest and most prestigious publishing houses. I not only hope to form a longstanding relationship with the folks over at Atria, but I hope that you continue to follow me along the way.   Now that I’m on a deadline for the next book, I’m unfortunately going to have to limit my time on my author page, but know I ALWAYS check my email, Facebook timeline, and Twitter. I just may not be able to get back to all you so quickly.
Anyway, I don’t have enough thanks in my heart for each and every single reader, blogger and author out there that’s helped me achieve this dream that I never thought was possible. I love you all to pieces for bringing Collide and Pulse to this level. I could NOT have done it without you! It’s pretty simple… You all rock. <3
